Nawman pawkinson

I make lists.
I make lists about music, lists about artists, movies, people i want to research; needless to say i'm going to need to start making lists about all the lists I have.

In one of my lists i found the name Norman Parkinson.
This is a concise biography of him and some of his work.

Born in 1913 in London Educated in Westminster School; he began his career as a photographer for the courts.
In 1934 he opened his own studio with Norman Kibblewhite.
From 1935 -1940 he worked for Harper's Bazaar and Bystander Magazine.
1947 He married actress Wenda Rogerson.
From 1945 to 1960 he was employed as a portrait and fashion photographer for Vogue.

From 1960 to 1964 he was an Associate Contributing Editor of Queen magazine. In 1963 he moved to Tobago, although frequently returned to London, and from 1964 until his death he worked as a freelance photographer.

Honestly his photographs speak for themselves, they're quirky and there's always something that pops, he plays with focus and colour and each of his photographs tells a short paragraph, not a story but a short paragraph of what their day was like.

I hope you enjoy his work as much as I do, and if you're interested in seeing more... just click here.

missing 8 heads

omg so i am going to attempt being creative today, i'm permanently terrified but i've decided that i need to train myself to draw the same way i train my body to exercise.

will it be fun, nope probably not .
but is body training fun , hell no.

so i have set my room up to be mega comfortable, dim lighting candles fan window open to the pitter patter of the rain.
today i'll let the west wind blow in some love.

i'll let you know how it goes but i hope that it will be successful.

i love pictures like this because hey look so hopeless, you know they aren't since you're looking at them on your screen but i love seeing the process, like whoever thought of this is slightly a genius nothing thats a big deal but something that is just plain and cool.

and if you think a little deeper you can see a little bit of sexism emerging in themes.
i find it intriguing.

Vintage revival, DMC way back play back, bursting bubble with fading colours. yes please

ehshit happens.

i like people who make me feel cozy. in all the sense of the word.

life isn't sexy enough.

alright so this is a post i feel very strong about.
EXTREMELY.
alright i wish that life was sexier and riskier. nowadays everything is so bland, there's no bite no passion.
we need to bring back the sex.
the heels the lipstick , the mystery.
nowadays girls are walking around with frizzy platinum blonde hair, huge hooker hoop earrings dark eye makeup, and cheap clothes.
it all just screams trying.
i want the days where women wore knee length skirts and let their underskirts peek out.
the days where women had seams in the back of their hosiery and black patent heels.
the days where sexy didn't mean having your nipples out your thong peeking and and a short skirt.
sexy is classy, sexy is mysterious. sexy is everything that i never see anymore.

personally i think the strongest element of sexy is mystery.
masquerades always prove to be the sexiest.
i'm sort of wishing there was a club and before you entered you put on a mask.
it was like cover.
and the club had stripper poles and aerialists, popping champagne, velvet, leather diamonds.
essentially the moulin rouge but with masks.
